MD HQL + Multi-State Concealed Firearm Permit Course
This is also PART I of MD Wear & Carry Permit -
(16 Hour Training Requirement)
MARYLAND RESIDENTS: Participants must take this course prior to purchasing a handgun. Beginner to Advanced-level course. If you already possess your MD HQL Course, you will still need to attend this class, but will also be eligible for your UTAH and Florida Non-Resident Permits for legal carry in 36+ states, including VA. If you have PREVIOUSLY attended a GirlOnFire HQL within last 2 years, those hours will be credited towards your Wear & Carry hours so you can register directly for PART II.

Four-hour Maryland Handgun Qualification License Course extensively covers handgun safety, shooting fundamentals, handgun safety, ammunition, malfunctions, fundamentals of shooting for accuracy, cleaning, escalation of force, relevant Maryland and Federal legal review. This course meets the training requirements to submit application for MD HQL Permit for firearm purchase, including required Live-Fire Portion. Also includes instruction and everything needed to apply for a Utah Non-Resident Concealed Firearm Permit for legal carry in 33+ states (Maryland electronic fingerprinting NOT included).

Live-Fire portion of course will be scheduled after you attend the classroom course. This schedule option will be provided during classroom portion to find ideal time for live fire session following the classroom instruction. If you would like Wear & Carry Permit, we will schedule multiple range sessions to complete live fire qualification with a high score. *Ammunition Cost and Range Fees not Included. Required eye and ear protection must be rented at the range or purchased. Florida Permit Option Included. Range Locations include Rockville, MD and Owings Mills, MD

MD Wear & Carry Course Part II

*This is Part II of the Wear & Carry Training. For Part I, please register for the MD HQL/UT/FL Permit Course and those hours will be credited towards this course. You can attend the courses in any order as long as the hours are fulfilled.
The Maryland Wear & Carry Course extensively covers defensive strategies, criminal cues, less than lethal options, holsters, drawing from concealment, PTSD reactions to invoking lethal force, relevant Maryland and Federal legal review. This course meets the training requirements to submit application for a MD Wear & Carry Permit, including required Live-Fire qualification. MD Electronic Fingerprinting Fee not included in cost.

Subsequent live-fire sessions will be scheduled after classroom portion(s) has been completed to fulfill MD training requirements. *Ammunition Cost and Range Fees not Included. Pre-qualification is scheduled for Friday evening of the weekend course.

Candidates will learn NRA policies and procedures, basic public speaking skills, training methodology, use of a training team, training aids, course organization, budget considerations, and how to prepare to instruct an initial basic pistol course to individuals with little or no experience. During the course, candidates will learn NRA policies and procedures, basic public speaking skills, training methodology, use of a training team and training aids, organizing a course, building a budget, and finally preparing to teach. Candidates can also expect to learn the NRA discipline specific instructional methods and evaluating and improving the performance of beginning shooters. In addition, candidates will be provided the appropriate lesson plans and basic course student packets. Candidates take turns working in teams, actually conducting portions of the course to other candidates who portray basic students. Training Counselors will evaluate candidates' performance based on their ability to handle the firearms with confidence, use of appropriate training aids, following the lesson plans and meeting all learning objectives, while utilizing the teaching philosophies expected of NRA Certified Instructors. This course includes significant business and marketing strategies if you would like to develop a firearms business.

NRA Certified Rifle Instructor Course

NRA Chief Range Safety Officer Course
This 14-hour course teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to training and supervising NRA range safety officers and developing range standard operating procedures.

Prerequisite: Must be an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer.
Course is presented in two parts: Basic Instructor Training and NRA Chief Range Safety Officer training, unless you are an existing instructor then only one day of training is required. Sessions include standard operating procedures, inspections, emergency procedures, firearm stoppages and malfunctions, safety briefings. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises and complete an open book exam. Students will receive NRA Basic Range Safety Officer lesson plans, basic student packet and basic course presentation CD.
This course is ideal if you'd like to Build a Range, Run a Range, Consult for Ranges, or if you are currently with an Agency where this rating is recognized for various positions.

This course is the Next Level of training once you have completed conceal carry training. This is a comprehensive classroom and live fire training which includes the following topics: Criminal Cues, Crime Statistics, Less than Lethal Options, Criminal Mindset, Smart Defense Mindset, Intuition, Home Security, Tactical Reloads, Malfunction Clearing, Physiological Stress, Technology Solutions, Drawing from Concealment, Defensive Course of Fire Speed Qualification (Dry Fire then Live Fire Session: safety, speed and accuracy).
